MVP to number 23

LeBron James claimed the league MVP on Monday, receiving the award in the high school gym where he first emerged on the national scene. "This is a place where all my dreams started and where I thought they could become real," James said in accepting the award at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. "There's really not a better place." He received 109 of a possible 121 first-place votes. Kobe Bryant who won it last year, came in second on the list this following by Dwayne Wade and Dwight Howard. King James is the first person in Cavaliers history to win this award. He averaged 28.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.2 assists this season. Since Howard received the best defense player of the year, LeBron came in second in that category, making him perhaps the league's most dominant two-way player since Michael Jordan. King James doesn't take all the credit. He says that his teammates and coach Mike Brown helped him receive this award. "I'm 24 years old. To be up here and win this MVP award, I never thought it would happen this fast. I always dreamed about celebrating championships with teammates," James said.

Damage In Dallas Mini-Camp

We all know the storms in Texas can get big. Winds that were just shy of tornado strength, and perhaps stronger, ripped through the roof during a rookie mini camp practice. Between the falling debris and trying to get out alive, special teams coach Joe DeCamillis Broke his back and 11 more people were hospitalized. "I saw it coming down and didn't have time to react," secondary coach Dave Campo said. "I hit the ground and was able to get back up." DeCamillis who was just hired a few months ago, is likely to need surgery to fix his back. Winds were clocked at 64 mph, a single mph shy of tornado level. An Irving police spokesman said there was hardly any damage beyond the Cowboy's Facility. The building was pretty much a 100- yard football field with a few more yards of clearance all the way around. The roof stood 80 feet high, the equivalent of an eight-story building. There were 27 players not to say all the coaches and media and grounds people that were in the building when it went down. They are all very lucky to only have one major injury.

Hatton Down for the Count!

Manny Pacquiao lives up to his name as the best pound for pound fighter. With only throwing 127 punches and landing 73, it only took the champ to mid way of the second round to finish Hatton. Coming off a dominating win over De La Hoya, Pacquiao was even better against Hatton, knocking him down two times in the first round. The final punch was a vicious left hand that dropped Hatton for good. Referee Kenny Bayless looked at Hatton and didn't even have to count, he knew it was over then. Hatton who only threw 78 punches only landed a mere 18. It was a total ass kicking. "I'm surprised the fight was so easy," Pacquiao said. "He was wide open for the right hook. I knew he would be looking for my left." "I was just doing my job," said Pacquiao, who is a national hero in the Philippines and is fast becoming a hero among boxing fans. "I always try to do my best in the ring." Pacquiao was a 2-1 favorite, but few thought Hatton would go easily. Mayweather Jr. might be next on the list for Pacquiao.

Coming out of Retirement...

Floyd "Money Makin" Mayweather Jr. the welterweight champ and pound-for-pound king until retiring last June, will officially end his retirement on Saturday. His next fight will be this summer, July 18 on HBO PPv at the MGM Grand against Juan Manuel Marquez. Mayweather hasn't boxed since knocking out Ricky Hatton in a December 2007. Floyd has had some trouble in the past with counterfeit money. He was a a strip club and was throwing out fake 100 dollar bills. He stated that he didn't know that they were counterfeit. Mayweather had wanted the fight to be at 145 pounds, but Marquez the smaller man coming up from the 135- pound division where he is champion wanted the weight as low as possible. The Deal was finalized Friday afternoon which took 6 hours to come up with a weight. They cant come in over 144 pounds. Mayweather (39-0, 25 KOs), turned 32 in February, told his advisers that they were free to listen to fight offers. Mayweather Sr. who is Hatton's trainer, told media members that his son will return to the ring. The winner of this fight could possibly go against the winner of the fight tonight between Hatton-Pacquiao.

Magic Win without Superman and Lee.

The Orlando Magic played game six in Philadelphia without rookie shooting guard Courtney Lee and the big man Dwight Howard down low and came home winning the series. D. Howard was forced to watch the game from a hotel as a he served a one-game suspension for throwing an elbow, and Lee was recovering from surgery for a fractured sinus. Despite not playing with two starters, the Magic won 114-89. The bench came off blazing. J.J. Redick probably had his best game in his NBA Career knocked down five 3-pointers. He played for Lee. Gortat manned the middle admirably in Howard's place, pulling down 15 rebounds and scoring 11 points and making couple great plays down the stretch. After their game, they stayed in the locker room for a bit to watch the end of Chicago and Celtics game. Magic were happy to know that Chicago pulled through with a triple overtime win. Magic want the Bulls to win the series. This will give us home court advantage through the next series.

This movement suspended the baseball and softball seasons and the regional track championships that were to start on Friday."The health and safety of our student activity participants is of the utmost importance," Breithaupt said. "Right now, we want to be cautious."

Temper Temper

Orlando Magics' Dwight Howard will have miss game 6, because of the elbow he swung at the head of 76ers center Samuel Dalembert in Tuesday's Game 5 and will join teammate Courtney lee on the sideline. Who also was hit my Howard unintentionally. Howard wound up totalling 24 points and a career playoff-best 24 rebounds to power Orlando to a 91-78 home win and nudge a the magic into a 3-2 series lead. Howard's hit on teammate left the rookie guard with a fractured sinus. The Magic have Tony Battie to replace Howard for game 6. 76ers won game 1 and 3 by 2 points each. Game 6 is to be taken place in Philly on Thursday at 7:30.Dwight is not allow into the arena, but He still flew with the team up there to support them. Hopefully they come home with a win but if not, the next game will take place in Orlando this Saturday. Dwight averages 20.6 points a game, with 13.8 boards a game. He was named Defense player of the year in the NBA.

Miami draft picks and more.

After coming off a great year going 11-5 and winning the division. I thought the Dolphins did a great job with the picks that choose. In the first round we picked up Vontae Davis a corner from Illinois. He Had 206 Tackles, 3 forced fumbles, and 7 interceptions to finish out his career. I believe this was an excellent pick up, just because we really needed help at the corner position. Our next pick in the draft went to Pat White from West Virginia. He had a 142.41 Passer rating and 21 touchdowns. He ended up with a career high 6,051 yards and a total of 56 touchdowns. He will help the Fins by stepping up the ability to run the crazy offense called "the Wildcat." Pat White and Ronnie Brown is a great combination to run that offense. They said that their going to keep White a the QB position. This means that John Beck had lost his position. The GM Ireland said that they only want three quarterback and that Beck just couldn't pull it through. Even though when they drafted Beck they thought we was going to be the future of the team. Doesn't look like it now. The Fins also selected another corner in the second round. Sean Smith From Utah finished his college career with only 75 tackles and 9 interceptions. This guy is a player when the ball is in his hands.

Jason wants to come back to Miami?

Jason Taylor admitted today that he has been talking to the Miami Dolphins about possible return. I like this idea, but if he would return i don't want him our Dancing with the Stars again. If He comes back he will need to be 110% committed to the team. Taylor can't stomach the idea of playing for the New York Jets. Which I think I is quite funny. After how many years playing against them and having to hate them, and then finally having to play for them just makes me laugh. But I guess you got to swallow any animosity when they are playing your bills. He says that he is still very committed to the Dolphins and the players. "No one was Happier when they went to New York and beat those guys" in the regular season finale to clinch the AFC East championship. Taylor has definitely put in the time and hard work and i would like to see him come back and eventually retire a Fin.

Same colors for Warner besides green!

On Wednesday the Cardinals and Kurt Warner came to an agreement of a two year $23 million. he will get $19 million guaranteed. I think this will be his final NFL Contract. and i am glad that he is staying in Arizona. He is a good fit there. This past year the Cardinals weren't suppose to do that great and look where they landed, at the Superbowl. "I love what we've been doing," Warner said. "I love what we've been building here." If you looked at some of his stats you know that he is a pretty good QB. He is ranked 1st in the passing YPG, 3rd in Passer rating, and 5Th with 48 300-yard games. During the pro-bowl he said that he would need some time to think about staying and playing or retiring. I am glad that he decided to play, he is not done with his football career. that man will have something great coming his way. This guy was also willing to take $1 million less a season just to make sure that the team extends wide receiver Anquan Boldin. That right there goes to show you how this man is.

Talk about some Money!

Everyone once to be a professional player some point in life. From the Fame to knowing that your being paid to play. if you a really good player you get really good benefits and lots and lots of money. NfL Free agency just kicked off and already major deals have gone down and alot of money will be spent in the long run. For example, Albert Haynesworth hit the free-agent jackpot Friday morning when signing a contract with the Washington Redskins. For the next 7 years he will be paid a total of $100 million. But it gets better, depending on how his preformance is he could earn up to $115 million. This deal is an NFL record $41 million in Guarantees. You know he isn't hurting in our market today. A lot of people are upset at the fact that these athletes are getting paid this much when M.I.A.M.I (money is a major issue.) I can understand that but, those people are just jealous because thats not them out there playing. I mean dont be mad because they made it.

Going to Florida but not home

As you may you know I am from Florida. I lived there my whole life. I am a true Floridian. Ha. Well usually every break we get from school i usually fly home or drive if the break is long enough. This Spring Break will be different from any other time going to Florida. I wont be seeing my family this time around because I am doing the college thing and going down to Panama City Beach, Florida. Its one of those things that you just have to experience in life. Its going to be weird crossing the border into Florida and not going home. It is very hard to try to do everything in one little week. I miss my family dearly, but ill be okay. I'm going home for Easter break. I cant wait. I am very close to my mother and little brother. He looks up to me and means alot to me. I know that he will want to see me here soon, but i think he will have to wait a little longer this time around. Now many of you already know about Panama City and its adventures but i don't get down like that (well maybe just a little.) The First thing i am going to do when i get there is go straight to down to the ocean. yeah you probably thought something else. Ha. I love and miss the beach so much. It calms me down and takes me away from the real world for that time being. I am going to have memories of this vacation until the day i die. its unfortunate that I'm not going home but i can wait another month to do that.

UFC 96 Jackson vs. Jardine

A few months ago Jardine received a call from Dana White President of UFC. This phone call entitled him to a bout versus Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. Having accepted it, Jardine's camp was simply awaiting the green light from Jackson's' camp, who also agreed on the fight. The Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jackson (29-7 MMA, 4-1 UFC) is coming off a very big win over Wanderlei Silva at UFC 92. Keith Jardine (14-4-1 MMA, 6-3 UFC) has been working his way up to the champion spot. Jardine started his UFC career on the reality TV show called "The Ultimate Fighter 2." Jardine hasn't fought since October 2008 at UFC 89 which he won over Brandon Vera. Jackson is only waiting 10 weeks since his last big win. I think Rampage is going to win by Knockout. Don't get me wrong i like Jardine but in this match up i would have to go with Jackson. This is not going to be an easy fight. Both Fighters can scrap. Anyone can get caught with a hook or a jab and be done. This is why i love this sport. The Fight is taking place in Columbus, Ohio and for the third consecutive year the Arnold Classic is held the same weekend. I am sure the Fighters will be there the opening day which is the day before the fight.

Great Sportsmanship

i don't know if you have heard about this one or not. A boy, Johntell Franklin, who lost his mother, Carlitha, to cancer on Saturday, Feb. 7, decided he wanted to play in that night's game against DeKalb. Before he decided to come play at his game that day he told the coach that he wasn't going to show up. this is completely understandable the kid just lost his mother. Franklin showed up to the gym during the second quarter wanting to play. he said "that his mother would have wanted him to play." His coach didn't put is name of the score book at the beginning of the game. Any player that goes into the game and doesn't have their name on the books get a technical. Dekalb coach and players did not want them to get penalized by all means. they knew what had happened. the officials met and came to a conclusion and had to go by the rules. so the Dekalb coach told his player to huddle up and he asked who wanted to take the two free shots. Darius McNeal put up his hand. the coach said "you know your going to miss them right?" and McNeal nodded his head. so then he walks out there and lines up for the shots and throws two air balls. by the end of the last shot the crowd was cheering and were behind the coaches 100%. they could have easily made those shots and taking advantage of the situation but they didn't. this goes to show you great class and sportsmanship.

Is Warner going to be changing colors?

The Cardinals want him, he wants to stay in Arizona. That's the easy part. but when you throw in money all hell breaks loose. Determining Warner's value is starting to become a little harder with time ticking away. Only 4 more days until he is a free agent. At the age of 38, i agree with him that he still has a few more years under his belt. I think that he deserves the money he is asking for one a couple of reasons. One with all the doubt that everyone was putting on his team he turned all of that into something positive and almost one the Superbowl. This guy can play. The Cardinals know that if he leaves them that he will be settling for less than what they will be offering to him. They also know that they need a good QB to throw the ball to there all star receivers such as Boldin, Breaston, and the best receiver in the NFL Fitzgerald. We all know how a veteran QB does after staying with his original team and then goes somewhere else (Farve). The Cardinals are reportedly offering around $10 million per year.

The Tiger is coming out of the Woods

Tiger Woods has been gone for quite some time with a knee injury. But its about that time for the phenomenal golf player to hit the green. Woods is recovering from anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery in his left knee. The Surgery occurred in late June, eight day s after Woods defeated Rocco Mediate in a playoff to win the U.S. Open. With the birth of Wood's son, Charlie, on February 8Th speculations has intensified that Woods would be returning soon. He is the defending champion of next week's Accenture Match Play Championship in Arizona and Accenture is one of Wood's big corporate sponsors. I think he will be back for this on. why not come back and winning the same tournament you did last year and win it again. the match play format, any player can be eliminated after one round. Woods might return to the CA Championship at Doral. this tournament has a no cut 72 hole world golf Championship played on a course where he has won three times.

Voting Rules won't change for the Steriod Era

The other day I was watching non other than ESPN, and couldn't help to notice the little ticket that scrolls across the bottom. "MLB- Hall of Fame doesn't plan to alter voting rules for steroids era." With the possibly growing that two of baseball's greatest home run hitters and ninth-winning est pitcher will be further ensnared in the steroids scandal. Should "steroid-era" records such as those of Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez and Roger Clemens be accompanied by an asterisk or should they not be aloud in? In my opinion, i think there are less major leaguers that didn't take any growth hormones than ones that did. there coaches have to know that there on something. i mean come on they just blow up one day and just start dropping bombs out of the park. But why would the coach rat them out. they wouldn't because if their hitting grand slams or pitching the last few innings to secure the win it doesn't matter to them as long as their winning. A lot of it comes from us the viewers the fans. we can never get enough of it. nothing is never good enough. We want to see high scoring games, strike outs, and home runs. to answer these demands some resorted to taking supplements. its not to far to the old timers that got all the records fair in square. Even though today these ball players should be aloud into the hall of hame but maybe they should have a little * to their name. ha

NBA AllStar game

My thoughts on the all star game were on the good side. even though i wanted the east to win, i still thought the all star game was good. Being a Orlando Magic fan, i love D. Howard. He is a machine. other players on the east include the king Lebron James, D. Wade, Garnett, and many more. But the west was more powerful down low. It was the first time in a while that Shaq and Kobe have been on the same team. Let alone be coached with the same guy as that caused problems. I didn't know you could get co-MVP. but they sure played the best out of everyone. Shaq is looking a lot better now then he did a few years ago. he also had a pretty cool entrance. the Jabawakies perform with a special guess non other than 7'0 Shaq. He was breaking it down. Like a said the east just didn't have enough man power down low.

Learning this new language called "Blogging!"

the definition of a blog is (a contraction of the term "Web log") is a Web site, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. this is new to me. I am trying to get the grasp of it. I like disscusing sports and other interesting topics.

Tell it how it is...

Hey everyone. This is your boy David. I am going to tell it how it is. Thanks for checking my blog out. hope to see you again.
