Great Sportsmanship

i don't know if you have heard about this one or not. A boy, Johntell Franklin, who lost his mother, Carlitha, to cancer on Saturday, Feb. 7, decided he wanted to play in that night's game against DeKalb. Before he decided to come play at his game that day he told the coach that he wasn't going to show up. this is completely understandable the kid just lost his mother. Franklin showed up to the gym during the second quarter wanting to play. he said "that his mother would have wanted him to play." His coach didn't put is name of the score book at the beginning of the game. Any player that goes into the game and doesn't have their name on the books get a technical. Dekalb coach and players did not want them to get penalized by all means. they knew what had happened. the officials met and came to a conclusion and had to go by the rules. so the Dekalb coach told his player to huddle up and he asked who wanted to take the two free shots. Darius McNeal put up his hand. the coach said "you know your going to miss them right?" and McNeal nodded his head. so then he walks out there and lines up for the shots and throws two air balls. by the end of the last shot the crowd was cheering and were behind the coaches 100%. they could have easily made those shots and taking advantage of the situation but they didn't. this goes to show you great class and sportsmanship.
